We are here to enrich, and achieve things of a higher standard. Since when did mediocre become okay?

Each time a subpar or normal experience is delivered someone leaves with a feeling of being disappointed. To believe that a one size fits all mentality is acceptable is an act of sabotage to your brand and to the community around it. Redefining the experience that people receive from your brand begins with you. The individual who when it all started dared to dream bigger and took action to do so.

“You are not here merely to make a living. You are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world, and to impoverish yourself if you forget the errand.” – Woodrow Wilson

Owning a business can be hard work, and many negative experiences can leave you feeling as if it is no longer worth it. Pushing back against this mentality and saying no to mediocre is what will help in redefining yourself, which helps to breathe new life into the passion that you once had for your business.

Mediocre pulls us away from the relationships that strengthen our bottom line. It makes a business look pale and sickly and lukewarm in the mouths of our customers. Mediocre is a version of fear that makes us feel uneasy, and less likely to care. It causes us to point the finger to someone else and blame them for why things aren’t going right.

So why are you subjecting your customers to such an experience?

Think back to the last time you were disappointed. Remember that feeling it gave you that just wouldn’t go away? Now think on how your customers may feel when your brand disappoints them and how long that feeling may linger with them.

How could the last experience you’ve had with a customer have been enriched? What small thing could have been done to make the last customer you interacted with love you forever?

Saying no to mediocre isn’t about throwing the biggest party, it’s about taking a moment to actually care about who you are providing a product or service to.

The best way to enrich an experience is to ask for help. Something many of us hesitate in doing due to past mediocre experiences. Truth is, most people out there aren’t out to get you. Some genuinely want to help, and the few that give the rest a bad name just seem to be effective at spreading their virus around. The best way to create a better social entrepreneur environment and be a leader in your field is to show the world who you are.

Each business card you hand out should be a starting point of something bigger, not just a place where you attempt to shove a novel into. It’s a starting point to a conversation. What do you want to be the first impression of your business to be? The same can apply to a businesses website. If the information presented is hard to navigate, not readily available on the device the viewer is accessing it from then more pain is presented and the less likely it is that you will effectively communicate and establish a relationship with that individual.

Be clear, function without form can be devastating to the message you are trying to share from your brand. It’s time to give your brand the attention it needs, let’s fight back against mediocre and things being just average. Give us a call or send us a message to see how we can build better communities together.
